New Year Resolution

Well from what I understand blogging is were you post feeling and thoughts that you would like to share. So for what ever its worth here is goes! First off Kyle and I had a real nice Christmas this year. But the day after Christmas we decided to catch a movie. Its what happened on the way home that really touched me. We had decided to leave the kids home and let them play with their new toys. And just get away the two of us. On the the way home we just got talking about the kids and how time flies and how our babies have grown. Then we both just started talking about how good our kids are and how they have touched out lives. I started to tear up and I then looked over at Kyle had tears running down his face. We both realize true happiness comes from having kids and watching them grow. Its not about the big houses or nice cars we all hope for its the cute things kids say or the hugs you get. Its a trying time and the older they get you realize how precious time is. I feel so thankful I have had Kyle to share that with. Time goes by really fast they are only babies for a short while. So my goal for the New Year is enjoy every min even though it can be so trying especially when you have teenagers in the house. Kids are what its all about!

My friends Denise had two of her kids run with us. They ran the 5k
with Kyle in Mapleton. I was so excited for them my eyes just filled
up with tears I was so proud! It takes alot to get up at 6:00 in the
morning and run. Our kids didn't want to give up there sleep time
to join in!

Jordan's first scout trip

Jordan had his first Scout trip with his dad!
He actually wore his scout shirt. Most of the
time he thinks he is too cool to wear his shirt.
He went with one of his good friends Alex and
his dad. They went fishing in the dark and lots of
fun!

PORTLAND OR BUST

Took a fun trip
to see Greg and Veronica! We had
alot of Fun. We went to the beach
and hiked the ice caves. We went
with Grampa and Grandma
Maxfield and Shania. We also celebrated Kyles birthday
when we were there. Kaitlin wrote on
the back window "Honk its my birthday"
we had fun with that. Everyone was
honking and waving at us. We felt like we
made alot of friends. But I am sure they
were just laughing at us. Memories like
these will forever be in my heart. It was

Jordan

Jordan our little athlete did so good last week. He raced in the track meet at school and kicked but. He raced against 6 other schools. He took first in the heat. It was amazing out of all the kids he kicked butt. He is such an athlete he loves all sports. He has played football, basketball this year and has done amazing. He also has such a proud dad!

The art of flying a Kite at Easter!

At Easter time, our family traditions no matter were we spend it, includes flying kites. It seems the Easter Bunny brings these kites as a joke. We have spent Easter on the desert were the wind was so strong it nearly ripped out kites in half. And we have spent Easter time at the park, where some of us watched others run real fast with the kite in order to keep it in the air. We have learned it doesn't matter how much you spend on a kite, its the art of running! No matter how frustrating it can be, we just love spending time together!

Great Grandma

I am really new to this blog thing! And those who know me, know I don't like spending time on the computer! There is just too much to see and too much to do! But I would like to pay tribute to my Grandma that shaped my life so much. When I was five, my Dad was killed in a mine accident in Moab. Things were really hard for my family. We had been living with my grandma. And now that I am a Mom I can't imagine the pain my Grandma Johnson felt losing a child. This was not the first child she had lost, but putting her pain aside, she took me under her wing. Almost like she was trying to just have a piece of my Dad still with her. We spent a lot of time together fishing and sewing quilts and jumping rope. My Grandma would pick me up for church every Sunday. I have to laugh because she would often make us matching dresses. Yes...I said it...matching dresses. But on Sunday, as my family sat together singing the opening hymn "I stand all amazed", I could almost hear her singing it to me like she had so many times before. Tears filled my eyes as I realized that it was her faith that had shaped the person that I am today. She taught me to how to piece a quilt. She also taught me to crochet a pot holder. And better yet, she taught me of the love of the Savior. I have made some mistakes she probably was not to happy with, but I hope I can make her proud of the person she molded. She has been gone for a while now and I miss her dearly, but I know she is with my Dad now. I can imagine the big smile on her face as she was reunited with him. My Grandpa just passed away last year and I can't help but imagine how happy they are to be with each other again.
